Meet Our Inspiring Lineup of Speakers

Becky Valcq is President of Alliant Energy's Wisconsin energy company and Vice President of Energy Delivery. She is accountable for the company's performance in the state and oversees its Wisconsin operations while supporting customer growth. She also leads operations support and economic development across Iowa and Wisconsin. Becky joined Alliant Energy in 2024 as Assistant Vice President of Regulatory Affairs, where she built relationships with stakeholders and regulators and kept the company's strategy aligned with regulatory requirements.

Experience & Education

Becky has spent decades in the energy industry and has led teams at many levels while working with broad groups of stakeholders. She began her career at We Energies, where she spent 15 years as regulatory in-house counsel. There she held primary internal legal responsibility for the utility's regulatory activity in Wisconsin and Michigan. She later became a Partner at Quarles & Brady in the firm's Energy, Environmental and Regulatory practice group. Becky earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Spanish from Drake University in 1997 and graduated from Marquette University Law School in 2000.

Public Service

Before joining Alliant Energy, Becky spent five years as Chairperson of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin. She oversaw the regulation of more than 1,000 water, electric and gas utilities in the state, both investor-owned and municipally owned. She also led the State Energy Office, the Wisconsin Broadband Office and the Office of Energy Innovation, and she served in the Governor's cabinet.
